The color pink has become quite the staple in the world of media. From Pink Friday to Barbie Pink, the color has a personality of its own. In the world of wrestling, Alex Gracia is known as the “Pink Dream.”
Her pink hair and gear along with a bubbly personality sets Gracia apart from the rest. Our very own Senior Writer Nickie Booshie sits down with Alex Gracia to discuss all things pink and her first days in the ring.
During the interview, Gracia is asked which superpower she would like to have and the answer is truly original.
The Superpower Of Communication
“So I would like to have the superpower of like, communication. So I would, I could like communicate with like anyone in the world like I could speak all the languages. I could like resonate with people, I just think it’s like, there are so many interesting people out there, but it’s like it because you don’t speak the same language or whatever you like, I would love to have just like, be able to speak with anybody.”
No matter how many years you put into an industry, it can still feel new. Gracia explains her feelings about being new and revisits her first few times in the ring. In addition, Gracia talks about her first match with Taya Valkyrie.
Overcoming The Challenges Of Being The ‘Newbie’
“So one of my first opponents was Taya [Valkyrie]. And it was like my first match with like someone who was on television, who had a lot of experience that she was really good. So I would say mentally that was really challenging because that was the first time I really felt like I had to like, level up. And we say now we’re like, we haven’t a wrestled in like four years. Like we’d like she goes out like if we wrestled it’d be I know, it’d be totally different. Now she goes, You were so new. And I was like, I still feel so new. But I was really new then.”
Recently, we see Alex Gracia in IMPACT! Wrestling. She shows love to Gail Kim while sharing her experience in the locker room.
“So, right off the bat, like Gail is amazing. Like, she just is there to help you. And you know, you feel that it’s like, oh, she’s not just coming up to me, because like, that’s her job. But she really takes the time. And she’s like, ‘Oh, how has everything been here? Like, how are you liking it,’ etc, and just very invested with me when I was just there, like, as an extra for the weekend. And so that really like meant a lot.”
