Nixon Newell Reveals Why She Hasn’t Wrestled Since WWE Release

Nixon Newell (former WWE’s Tegan Nox) explains why she hasn’t wrestled since her release.

“Basically, because I haven’t gotten the visa or green card, I can’t wrestle,” Newell said while speaking with Sean Smith of the Sappenin’ Podcast. “I keep getting messages, ‘Have you retired?’ No, I just can’t. Legally, I can’t. I’ve just been chilling, in the house, playing video games. I went to Sad Summer Fest a couple of weeks ago, which was phenomenal. Just chilling with my dogs and friends. Usual stuff that I can do without working.” (H/T Fightful)

Since October 2021, Newell hasn’t wrestled. She tore her ACL before the 2017 May Young Classic. She returned during an NXT Live event in August of 2018 before competing in that year’s May Young Classic. Nixon Newell went on to become part of the NXT UK roster the following year until she was moved to NXT in 2020. She debuted on the main roster as part of the SmackDown brand in July 2021 along with Shotzi before the two were split up during the brand draft. She was then released from the company in November of that same year.
