Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler Crowned New Women’s Tag Team Champions

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler become new women’s tag team champions.

The new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions were crowned in a Fatal Four Way on the Monday Night Raw episode of May 29. The new champions, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, defeated Damage CTRL, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi, and Raquel Rodriguez and Shotzi.

Rodriguez was the main focus for the majority of the time that the match was on, which was a respectable amount of time. Shotzi and Ronda Rousey faced off in the match’s closing seconds, though. Shotzi attempted to perform a backdrop from the top rope but was defeated by Rousey with an arm bar.

Trish Stratus introduced her Night of Champions assistant, Zoey Stark, with a promo. The segment would end with both women attacking Becky Lynch after she came out.

Maxxine Dupri now appears to be fully enrolled in the Alpha Academy. When her team faced Imperium, she entered the ring wearing a “shoosh” shirt. Valhalla showed up and pursued Dupri. She kicked her in the head before sprinting and yelling away as Valhalla pursued her from behind.

Two vignettes were broadcast, one for Candice LeRae and Katana Chance and the other for Kayden Carter and Katana Chance.

Next week will see two Money in the Bank qualifying matches. Sonya Deville vs. Becky Lynch, and Natalya vs. Zoey Stark.
