Before WWE 2K23’s release next month, 2K announced the “Never Give Up” 2K Showcase’s full lineup on Thursday. Cover athlete John Cena is featured. Players can control Cena’s biggest opponents to defeat him in WWE’s biggest matches in the “Never Give Up” 2K Showcase.
On WWE 2K’s official website, Visual Concepts Showcase Lead Designer Dino Zucconi revealed the entire match list.
THE MATCH LIST

Each of the aforementioned contests resulted in Cena’s defeat, and players will be tasked with reliving the past.
Zucconi said the design team wanted to highlight Cena’s struggles over his 20-year career, even though he is one of WWE’s most successful and consistent Superstars. From his Prototype SmackDown debut against Kurt Angle to his rise as the Dr. of Thuganomics and purveyor of grit, loyalty, and respect, the 2K Showcase covers Cena’s career.
In addition to the matches, gamers will be treated to vignettes and interviews in which Cena sets the scene and discusses some of his most difficult matches, opponents, and storylines. Zucconi said the team decided to highlight Cena’s defeats as well as his victories because it was consistent with his career.
“We felt like it would be a great way to show the full story of John Cena’s journey, as many fans tend to think of him as someone who maybe didn’t have it as difficult as others; that he didn’t have to fight for what he wanted, didn’t have to learn difficult lessons,” stated Zucconi. “And we knew that this wasn’t the case.”
2K calls the “Never Give Up” 2K Showcase a “interactive sports documentary” because of its gameplay and cutscenes. WWE 2K23’s Standard and Cross-Gen Editions launch on March 17, while the Icon and Deluxe Editions for PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC launch on March 14.
