Trish Adora has been making a name and rounds up and down the wrestling world. She has taken names and cashed those checks with entertaining matches and moments that made me a fan of her in the ring. Her theme music and gear shine with Pro Blackness and show that she is not the lady to underestimate. Adora served in the US Army for eight years in Kabul, Afghanistan, working as a Signal Support Specialist and a Military Police Officer. In 2016, she made her debut while training at Team 3D Academy. She also appeared on NXT/debuted in a non-title match against Kairi Sane on September 5, 2018. Another remarkable fact about Trish is that she was the first or inaugural holder of that title with every belt she has held. Here are my Top 5 Moments of Trish Adora’s Career. 5. Trish Adora signs with Ring of Honor. On September 29, 2021, it was announced that Trish signed with ROH. I was extremely excited to hear the news because Trish is excellent with all that she does. I am a fan of Ring of Honor, and I am always happy when wrestling promotions, especially ones more major in the scene, sign Black women wrestlers. However, as Ring of Honor has recently decided to release all wrestlers from their contractual obligations, I hope Trish can sign another significant promotion to show more of the world how amazing she truly is. 4. Trish Teaming up with Jazz at Black Girl Magik On June 26, 2021, Trish was supposed to put up her Pan Afrikan World Diaspora Champion against the phenomenal Jazz. The match became a tag match where Trish teamed up with Jazz to take on Brooke Valentine and Willow Nightingale, Thick and Juicy 2.0. Seeing Trish wrestle for the first time and seeing another woman I idolized growing up watching was like a bucket list match I did not know I needed. 3. Trish winning the GCW Women’s Championship (Generation Championship Wrestling) On April 11, 2018, Trish became the first-ever GCW Women’s Champion. A title she held for an impressive 762 days. Being the first to have the title and doing so only the way she can, impressed me. 2. PWI Rankings In September 2021, Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) released the 31st Annual PWI 500. Trish Adora ranked the highest among the women that made a list. She was at number 44. Trish also made the annual PWI 150 as well ranking at number 18. I believe she was deserving of being in the top 10 but also knew this was based on the opinions of those who worked on the list. 1. Afrikan World Diaspora Championship Trish Adora first wrestled Eel O’Neal in the first round, which was an entertaining match. Trish went on to face O’Shea Edwards in the semifinals and won by disqualification. Finally, she went into the finals defeating Darius Lockhart to win the tournament and vacant Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling title. She has been the champion ever since, defending the title led PWI to recognize the title as a world championship belt. This championship is one of pride, diversity, and legitimacy. Most importantly, it is the representation of the African diaspora. For Trish to only be wrestling for five years, she has already accomplished so much. Seeing fellow Black women shine in their fields is something I will always praise and root for. I cannot wait to see what she does in 2022.
