- Shotzi Has Her Sights Set on Sasha Banks
WWE split up the newly formed tag team Shotzi and Nox in the 2021 WWE Draft. Shotzi drove her tank to the ring and made a massive statement by inserting herself into a championship contenders match with the 13x Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, but would then layout “The Boss,” signaling a new persona for her. Last night WWE Smackdown didn’t open up with the Head of The Table; instead, it opened up with the Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair addressing the WWE Universe. Flair would mock the women’s locker room on Smackdown and brag that every time Charlotte Flair wins a title, it’s “Just Another Friday.” The Queen was rudely interrupted by “The Boss.” Sasha Banks addressed The Queen and demanded a women’s championship match. However, Charlotte would deny and insist that it was time for “fresh faces” and “fresh matchups.” Flair’s challenge was the perfect signal for Shotzi to ride her tank down the ramp accepting Charlotte’s proposal, “if you’re looking for someone you’ve never faced before, i’m your girl.” The match would highlight Shotzi’s in-ring athleticism and build her up as a future star in the making for Smackdown. Throughout the match, Banks would remain ringside rooting for Shotzi. At one point in the match, Shotzi would land an awkward suicide dive outside the ring but was caught by Flair. Shotzi continues to take “The Queen” to her limit, showing the WWE Universe exactly what she’s capable of when given the opportunity. Banks accidentally distracted Shotzi and allowed Flair to hit Shotzi with a Natural Selection for the 1-2-3. After the match, Shotzi would appear upset with Banks for costing her the championship contender’s match. She began to yell at Banks, “It’s all your fault,” before attacking Banks and ushering her into a new era of her character. Shotzi slammed Banks into her tank before rolling Sasha in the ring and hitting her with “The Ballpit” (a divining top rope senton) that would TCB (take care of business). The WWE Universe was stunned as “The Boss” was laid out by the up-and-coming fresh face of Smackdown. After Smackdown went off the air Shotzi was interviewed by “The Female Voice of the WWE” Kayla Braxton, who asked Shotzi why she attacked Sasha. “I am fed up. Plain and simple. I’m fed up. I am done being the happy, easy-going Shotzi. I have been screwed over on title opportunity over title opportunity. My tag partner left me. I came here just wanting to have fun and kick ass. Well, you know what? I haven’t had fun in a long time. So there’s just one thing left to do. Sasha was my breaking point, and now she’s my target. I am not letting anyone walk over me anymore. I am running over everyone in my way.” Only time will tell if Shotzi will be that new face of the Smackdown Women’s Division, but she has undoubtedly made a name for herself by attacking “The Blueprint.” The WWE Universe was left on the edge of their seats to see what’s next for Shotzi. #CharlotteFlair #SashaBanks #Shotzi

- The Future of the Virtuosa: Deonna Purrazzo is STILL a Champion!
According to the Dictionary, Virtuosa is “a woman with exceptional talent or skill,” which Deonna Purrazzo represents. She became a household name, making everyone pay attention to the number 3 spot on PWI Women’s 150 List. For the past year, Purrazzo continued to make her mark in wrestling with notable victories at Turning Point and NWA Empowerrr. The dynamic she brings to the Knockouts division displays a grace of power and dominance, leading her to hold two separate promotional titles simultaneously. Many will say her partnership with Drama King gave her quite the advantage during her Knockouts reign. However, this only displays a piece of her journey. However, their victory at Homecoming led to Drama King becoming a non-factor in this battle between her and Mickie James, banned from ringside. Deonna Purrazzo loss to Mickie James comes as a shock to many. James became a 4-time Knockouts champion and allowed women in the division to face the legend of Hardcore Country. The number one contender for the Knockouts championship is Mercedes Martinez, which creates questions about the next direction for The Virtuosa. Photo credit: Impact Wrestling So, what is next for Purrazzo? Let us not forget, that the title of this article proclaims, that she is still a champion. As she continues her first reign as AAA Reina de Reinas, the opponents are endless. The dropping of the Knockouts championship opens the door for more focus on her current title while finding new competitors along the way. I would love to see a match between a long-time friend and current AEW Women’s Champion, Dr. Britt Baker. Each of these women is at the top of their game right now, so the clash would be electric. However, the forbidden door seems to be stuck in the men’s bathroom. Hopefully, we see more women from different promotions face each other and give the fans what they want in cross-promotion. With her absence on the latest episode of Impact Wrestling, where does this leave the former Knockouts Champion? As we await her return, one fact stands: The Virtuosa is far from done. #deonnapurrazzo #Impact
- PWI Women’s 150- Top 10!
Many of us waited with anticipation about who made the PWI’s Women’s 150 lists. Thus list each year gets people talking, and this list did the same thing. I was fortunate enough to have the list info before it was released, so I got to think about the list in extent before it went out to the public. For this, though, I will only be talking about the top 10. Top 10 of the PWI Women’s 150 Bianca Belair (WWE- Raw) Utami Hayashishita (Stardom) Deonna Purazzo (Impact) Britt Baker (AEW) Thunder Rosa (AEW) Sasha Banks (WWE- SmackDown) Syuri (Stardom) Io Shirai (WWE– NXT) Tam Nakano (Stardom) Raquel Gonzalez (WWE- NXT) Raquel González 10. Raquel González Making her PWI debut on the list, Raquel came in at number 10. It is a fantastic feat to start in the top 10 for a list she never ranked before. Raquel is a second-generation professional wrestler, following her father, Rick González. A former NXT Tag Team Champion, a title she held with Dakota Kai. Gonzalez is also the inaugural winner of the Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, which she did with Dakota. Raquel’s career has made quite the uphill turn in the past year, and though she recently lost the belt to Mandy Rose at Halloween Havoc, I am interested to see what she does next. Tam Nakano 9. Tam Nakano Tam Nakano wrestles under Stardom, where she is currently the Wonder of Stardom Champion. Nakano has been dominating in all her matches this past year. She is trained in kungfu and pays tribute to that with her ring gear and wrestling techniques. I am excited to see what Tam does next. Io Shirai 8. Io Shirai Io Shirai is one of my favorite women in wrestling right now. When she came back as a heel to do what was necessary to win the championship, she did so with perfection. Io has one of the best moonsaults in WWE. At the top of her game, Io came back from injury, competing in great matches such as a ladders match against Charlotte Flair. She renewed a rivalry with Candice LeRae and competed in the first Tables, Ladders, and Scares match at WWE’s Halloween Havoc in 2020. Io held the NXT women’s title for 304 days. She also became the NXT Women’s Tag Champion with Zoey Stark. Io has had a fantastic year, and deserving made it to the top 10. Syuri 7. Syuri Syuri works under Stardom, where she is the current SWA World Champion. She is proficient in shoot boxing, kickboxing, and mixed martial arts. She also formerly competed in UFC. Syuri is dominant and someone to watch in Stardom. In the last year alone, she has dominated in Stardom, and this spot fits her. Sasha Banks 6. Sasha Banks Now, Sasha Banks, aka The Boss, has many accolades under her belt. She was also part of the historic first-ever Women’s WrestleMania Main Event. While Sasha moved down from 3 to 6, she still made the top 10 proving her dominance in wrestling. Sasha is a 1-time NXT Women’s champion, a five-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion, a 1-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, and a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion all under WWE. She is also the fourth woman to be a WWE Triple Crown Champion and the 3rd to become a WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion. Sasha is also making moves outside of wrestling, appearing in two episodes of The Mandalorian as Koska Reeves. Thunder Rosa #5 Thunder Rosa Thunder Rosa has been making a name for herself for years. With owning Mission Pro and making the women in her roster shine, Rosa has dominated several promotions. Rosa has held many titles in her career, but she started letting others who may not have known her work once she became a familiar figure in AEW. She is hard-working, and I believe she surpassed Britt Baker. Lol! I take what comes with what I said. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D # 4. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. AEW’s current Women’s champion and wrestling’s favorite dentist ranked #4 on the list. She became the champion in May 2021 after defeating Hikaru Shida. While she has been on an upswing since becoming champ, she has been booked in various matches, feuds, and promos that have her fans wanting more. I believe she was ranked too high on the list as I think she needs a bit more work on the ring. However, I can admit that she has gotten much better. A significant component was her match with Thunder Rosa, which was AEW’s first women’s main event. Deonna Purazzo #3: Deonna Purazzo Since Deonna Purazzo was let go from WWE in April 2020, she has been on a roll. She had owned her greatness, becoming one of Impact’s most decorated wrestlers and doing so in a short amount of time. She had the Knockouts Championship 2 times, recently losing it to Mickie James. She was also named IMPACT Wrestler and Knockout of the year in 2020. Deonna Purazzo has proven to be exceptional, and I do not doubt that she may even take the number one spot if she continues what she is doing. Utami Hayashisita #2: Utami Hayashisita I recently was introduced to Utami, and she has stunned me with just how good she is. She wrestles in Japan for Stardom. She is 23 years old and new to the wrestling game and has repeatedly shown that she will be more prominent as time goes on. Currently holding the World of Stardom Champion, she won the 5 Star GP in 2020, the 5 Star GP award, and Best Match in the same tournament. As the winner of having the Best Match of the Year award against Mayu Iwatani in November 2020. Utami participated in a dark match at Wrestle Kingdom 15 on Night 2. She could very well be number one on next year’s list. Bianca Belair On October 21, 2021, it was announced that Bianca Belair topped Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Women’s 150. This made her the PWI’s top women wrestler in the world. PWI’s Kristen Ashly broke the news on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast. Bianca won the Women’s Royal Rumble in January 2021. She also participated in the main event of WrestleMania 36 with Sasha Banks, where she captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the very first time. A historic moment in wrestling and all the Black girls and Black women who are fans of wrestling. A moment that won Banks and Belair an ESPY this year. Belair has style, grace, and in your face with everything that she presents. Her athleticism and humility, doing everything with near perfection. There was no one else deserving of this position. I know many may disagree, but I say with the utmost kindness, you are wrong! While I disagreed with some of the spots on the overall list, it was nice to see more women added to the list. I was also a bit peeved that some great women were left off. With that being said, I cannot wait to see what the list in 2022 brings me. #SashaBanks #Stardom #PWIWomens150 #WWESmackDown #IoShirai #PWI150 #TamNakano #Syuri #nxt #deonnapurrazzo #WWERAW #RaquelGonzalez #BiancaBelair #WWENXT #BrittBaker #SmackDown #ThunderRosa #Raw #WWE #AEW #Impact #ProWrestlingIllustrated #UtamiHayashishita #PWI
- Britt Baker Set To Face Abadon In Halloween Gimmick Match On AEW Rampage
On Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was announced that AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker would take on Abadon in a Trick or Treat No DQ Match on Friday’s AEW Rampage. After Baker walked out on her match against Abadon on the Jericho Cruise, Tony Khan says she will have to make up for that, so he booked a match for Friday’s show. If Abadon wins, she will receive a future title shot opportunity. However, we know that the champion would have a few tricks up her sleeve. During an interview segment on Dynamite, Baker found out about her match with “The Living Dead Girl” and had a few words for her challenger. “I got a couple of tricks. We will see you then. We will see you Friday on Rampage Abadon. Trick or treat Abby, yours truly Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.” Credit: AEW If Baker remains on Friday, she will have to prepare for her next challenger Tay Conti, who ran off Baker and her entourage, Rebel and Jamie Hayter, on last week’s episode of Rampage. Baker defeated Conti’s best friend and ‘TayJay’ tag team partner Anna Jay to retain her AEW Women’s World title. Baker told Conti during a backstage promo: “All you have done since coming to AEW is show everybody you are a**. I am showing everybody why I am the most talked about name in all women’s wrestling.” D.M.D has reigned as champion since May 30, when she dethrones Hikaru Shida for the title at Double or Nothing. She successfully defended her belt, including a notable victory over Ruby Soho at Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 22. Previously, Conti challenged Shida for the AEW Women’s champion on the April 21 episode of Dynamite; unfortunately, she did not win the match. Full Gear will be held on November 13 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. However, will Tay Conti be facing Britt Baker or the new champion, Abadon? #Abadon #AEW #BrittBaker #Rampage
