AEW Dynamite Results: August 20, 2025 — Athena Dominates, Moné Targeted, and Storm Left Broken

AEW Dynamite landed in Glasgow for the first time, and while the night was stacked with chaos, brawls, and shocking twists, it was the women who left the loudest mark heading into Forbidden Door.

The biggest statement of the night came from Athena. The ROH Women’s World Champion teamed up with TBS Champion Mercedes Moné to face AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm and Alex Windsor in a match that highlighted the tangled web of rivalries surrounding Sunday’s pay-per-view. While Storm and Windsor tried to play nice, their chemistry faltered at key moments. Athena and Moné weren’t exactly in sync either, but when they locked in, they were lethal.

Storm, rocking Glasgow-inspired gear, tried to rally her side, but Athena’s firepower shifted the tide. Athena laid Storm out with a vicious piledriver on the steps, making it clear that she’s ready to take the AEW Women’s World Title at Forbidden Door. Windsor nearly had Moné beat with a Sharpshooter, but the mistake of forgetting who was legal cost her. Athena soared with the O-Face for the pin, sending a message that she is the true threat in Sunday’s championship match.

Even after the bell, tensions didn’t stop. Moné came face-to-face with another opponent at Forbidden Door, Persephone, who shoved the TBS Champion to the ground in a moment that had the Glasgow crowd buzzing. With Toni Storm nursing injuries, Windsor reeling from the loss, and Moné finding herself targeted from all sides, Athena walked out of Dynamite looking like the most dangerous woman in the game.
