Dakota Kai is still ecstatic as a result of her comeback at WWE SummerSlam, which stunned the globe.
Kai, who had been released from WWE in April, strolled down the ramp and joined forces with Bayley and IYO SKY during “The Biggest Party of the Summer.” The next evening on WWE RAW, the three confirmed their standing as a dangerous force by assaulting Becky Lynch.
During an interview on WWE’s The Bump, Kai explained her comeback and said that it was a last-minute decision.
“Honestly it still feels like a whirlwind to me with everything that happened,” said Kai. “It all happened so last-minute, too. So to be talking with you guys right now is insane to me. Everything that’s happened since Saturday has been insane, so yeah, it’s been crazy.”
Kai remarked that despite her best efforts to relish the moment, she couldn’t accept the truth of the situation.
“It’s kind of weird,” said Kai. “It’s sort of like I had an out-of-body experience. I got advice a couple of years ago when I was in the WrestleMania battle royale by Tamina, who was like, this is gonna be over in the blink of an eye so make sure you take it in, look around, and actually absorb the moment because it’s gonna go by really quickly.
So I took her advice, but it’s very weird because I had a short window where I knew this was actually going to be a thing that would happen, so I think I was still trying to accept that reality when I was walking down the ramp. I’m like, what’s happening right now? This is weird. It was crazy.”
Kai proceeded by saying she and “The Role Model” have long discussed her connection with Bayley and SKY. She also noted that it is “crazy” that she is collaborating with two prominent rivals.
“So Bayley and I, we’ve been kind of like talking about something like this for a long time,” said Kai. “It hasn’t been something that was just stirred overnight. This has been something we’ve wanted for years at this point, so the fact that it’s actually happened and to be sort of under her guidance is insane because she’s literally amazing and she’s great. But IYO and I, we’ve known each other a long time, when I first went to Japan, and she is literally one of the best in the world, so to be alongside these two women is just a dream.
“Everything that’s happened, it’s like something you think of in a fever dream, and you don’t think it’s really gonna happen, but the fact that it is and I’m alongside these two amazing people, it’s crazy. It’s insane.”
