Ember Moon made her WWE debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, where she signed a contract in September 2015.
During her run in the WWE, Moon won the NXT Women’s Championship as well as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships with Shotzi, and she appeared on both Raw and SmackDown Live. On November 4, WWE terminated Moon’s contract and she was no longer employed by the company.
Moon addressed the news of her WWE termination in a video posted to her Twitch account.
“Without WWE, I wouldn’t be were I’m at today. I got to travel the world, meet amazing people and make amazing friends that are going to be with me for a lifetime. At the end of the day, I don’t think it’s all bad. Every time I look at the negatives, and there were plenty, trust me, the positives outweigh that. There is no use in being mad,” she stated.
Moon went on to say that she doesn’t think it’s fair for her to whine and complain when so many of her friends, who didn’t have the same possibilities as her, have been freed as a result of the situation.
“I feel very sorry for me friends that did get let go too early. What I mean by that is those men and women that never got an opportunity to showcase themselves on the level that I know they can showcase themselves. That’s part of the reason why I feel like it’s not fair for me to come on here and bitch and moan and whine. It’s not fair. Where I had the opportunity to wrestle on Raw, SmackDown, and NXT and became a champion and did a lot with my career, it’s not fair when those of my friends barely got started,” she added.
Ember had to sit out the remainder of her 90-day non-compete agreement before she could return to the ring. The non-compete agreement terminated on February 2nd.
When questioned about the lessons she took away from the 90-day experience, Ember stated, “Patience is a virtue.” “I felt like a lot of self-reflection about what I could have done differently. I feel like I wouldn’t have changed anything. I felt for some time I was just stagnant and there was no opportunity to grow at times.”
Warrior Wrestling 19 will feature Moon’s first post-WWE match when she takes on Thunder Rosa on February 12. In reference to the match, Moon stated, “It’s an opportunity to prove that I’m not some washed up has been. For awhile, I felt like that and I know in my heart and soul that I’m better than that.”
As Rousey herself revealed on social media, Moon helped Ronda Rousey prepare for her comeback at the Royal Rumble.

NXT’s October 5 program saw Moon lose to Mandy Rose, and she has not competed since then.
Wrestling with Sasha Banks would have been a dream come true, as Moon revealed during the post-show Q&A session. “They knew if we had that match, no one could keep up with that,” she proclaimed. She also claimed that if she is signed, or if she gets signed, she won’t tell anybody, they’ll have to wait and watch.
In response to the question of whether or not she will return to WWE, she responded, “I did not have a terrible experience there. If they asked, maybe, depending on the circumstance, but maybe. I’m open.”
Moon said that she will return to her former Ember Moon persona prior to her release, but did not divulge any other details. Moon will return to Twitch on a regular basis now that her non-compete agreement has expired.
