Jinny Announces Wrestling Retirement

Jinny, best known for her in-ring work in WWE’s former NXT UK brand, has announced her retirement from professional wrestling.

The Fashionista took to Twitter on Saturday, January 14th, to announce that she has been away from the ring the past year due to an undisclosed injury. During this time, Jinny came to the decision to hang up her “fashionable boots” and embark on new beginnings outside of the wrestling industry.

After a long time away due to an injury, I have made the decision to hang up my fashionable boots. Thank you for all the memories. I'll remember for them forever. Every journey has an end, but in life, every ending is just a new beginning. I'm excited about what's next 💋 pic.twitter.com/XNJyDyRjPJ — Jinny (@JinnyCouture) January 14, 2023

Prior to her run in NXT UK, Jinny performed as an in-ring talent for Progress Wrestling in which she captured the Progress Women’s Championship twice. She also made appearances in Revolution Pro Wrestling wherein she was crowned as the inaugural Undisputed British Women’s Champion after defeating IMPACT Wrestling’s Deonna Purrazzo in the finals of the championship tournament. Jinny also competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic but would fall short in the first round after a tough battle against Toni Storm.

Some of The Fashionista’s notable rivalries in NXT UK included stellar matchups against the likes of Meiko Satomura, Lyra Valkyria, and Doudrop, among others. Jinny’s final on-screen appearance was a pinfall victory over Amale in January of 2022, nearly a year from the time of writing.

Women’s Wrestling Talk wishes Jinny all the best in her future endeavors outside of wrestling.
