Paris Is Bumping Makes History With The First Ever All Trans Women Main Event

Former Staff

Over the course of this past Saturday and Sunday, the first ever Pride and Vibe Festival was held in Ridgefield, New Jersey with the highlight being the Paris Is Bumping: The Legends Ball event. The show did not disappoint, and history was made as the first ever all trans women main event was held on the second day.

Crystal Marrero refereed DARK Sheik, Edith Surreal, and Candy Lee in a deadly three-way match. The women were vying for the PIB Grand Prize Champion Trophy, with Lee ultimately coming out on top.

Lee is the first trans pro wrestler to come from New Zealand. She was the first trans woman to win a major Indies championship at New Zealand’s Impact Pro in 2017. Surreal hails from Philadelphia and is best known for her time in Chikara, GCW and Beyond Wrestling. She is also known for becoming the first person to win the Casandro Cup at Prime-Time Pro Wrestling’s Butch vs. Gore event from last year. DARK Sheik is a twenty-year veteran. She is a trailblazer in LGBTQ+ wrestling and is best known for her tenure in GCW. Marrero hails from New York and made her referee debut last year after training at the T2T Wrestling Academy.

The festival was originally announced in November of last year, and also featured other LGBTQ+ women and non-binary folk, including Trish Adora, Kidd Bandit and Max the Impaler
