Reality of Wrestling is back, and they’re bringing the heat with the 2024 Sherri Martel Classic Tournament on Sunday, September 29, at the Walker Texas Lawyer Arena in Texas City, Texas. This highly anticipated event is not only a celebration of Sherri Martel, one of wrestling’s most iconic bad girls, but also a fierce competition featuring 12 talented women from across the independent wrestling world. Just like its inaugural edition in 2022, this year’s tournament will be a platform for female wrestlers to shine, but there’s an exciting twist—the tournament will feature a standout from WWE NXT, Carlee Bright, who signed with WWE in late 2022.
Earlier this week, ROW revealed the official brackets for the Classic. The tournament will be structured in three rounds, starting with six singles matches. The winners will move on to the semi-finals, where two triple-threat matches will determine the final two competitors. From there, it’s an all-or-nothing showdown for the crown of the next Sherri Martel Champion.
The opening round matchups are set, and the card is sizzling:
Promise Braxton vs. Jazmin Allure
Alex Gracia vs. Erica Torres
Karizma vs. Kayla Kapri
Mia Friday vs. Haley J
Gigi Rey vs. Sheeva
Carlee Bright vs. Monica Monroe
This year’s tournament is especially exciting, as it follows the inaugural Sherri Martel Classic, which saw “The Renaissance Woman” Hyan claim the title in April 2022. This edition promises just as much action, athleticism, and drama, with competitors ready to leave it all in the ring.
Not only will the 2024 Sherri Martel Classic deliver intense matchups, but it’s also a tribute to the legacy of Sherri Martel, one of the fiercest and most trailblazing women in wrestling. Known for her ruthless style and ability to command attention both as a wrestler and manager, Martel smashed barriers for women in wrestling, and this tournament continues to honor that legacy.
With doors opening at 4:30 PM and bell time at 5:00 PM, the stage is set for an unforgettable night of action. For those ready for blood, sweat, and some serious swagger, this is a must-see event.
