Shayna Baszler is a former mixed martial artist, kickboxer. Currently, she is under contract with WWE’s SmackDown brand. Shayna is the combined champion with the longest reign, having held the NXT Women’s Championship twice. Additionally, she held the Women’s Tag Team titles twice with Nia Jax. Former UFC fighter Josh Barnett trained her in mixed martial arts, while Billy Robinson instructed her in catch wrestling.
This leads me to Shayna’s interview with Dark Puroresu Flowsion. She expressed her desire for a WWE crossover with Stardom.
“I have said many times I would love a match against Giulia or Syuri. I think my ring style works really well with a style like theirs. As for a crossover, one thing in this business I have learned is to never say never.”
Shayna stated during this interview that Minoru Suzuki would be her ideal opponent. Shayna has previously portrayed Io Shirai/Iyo Sky and Toni Storm for STARDOM.
WWE rarely collaborates with other promotions, but with NJPW employing both Shinsuke Nakamura and Karl Anderson, a STARDOM crossover is possible. Former WWE superstar Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, made the transition to NJPW and Stardom. NJPW even has a Women’s IWGP title, which KAIRI holds. I would love to see a combination of the two promotions.
