Final match of the quarterfinals of the women's Owen Hart tournament

In this latest installment in the Owen Hart Tournament we see an exciting match between Sky Blue and Maya World.

During this quarterfinal match, we see an emerging talent on the women's roster, Maya World really shine, as someone to keep your eye on. How sad that this opportunity for Maya has to come up right after the tragic death of her brother. 

Fans were actually expecting another match a few days ago. With Maya taking the place of Sareee who could not be cleared to compete. Tony Khan sent a get well soon wish to Sareee during the match and a promise that when she is cleared to compete that she is always welcomed in AEW.

Sky Blue comes into the match trying to take control with hard strikes to Maya and taunting the crowd when they root for Maya. 

Maya takes the boots to Sky Blue to bring her back into the match, but Skye Blue delivers a DDT on the ramp that leaves her opponent a little stunned to say the least. 

This allows Sky Blue to retain the control for most of the match.

Maya isn’t a quitter and with the support of the crowd works to gain control and attempts a pin after a very effective German suplex. 

Running knee strikes and another insanely impressive German suplex really brings Maya back into the game. The crowd is really invested in this final quarter final match. Chanting “Let’s go Maya” several times throughout the middle of this bout.

Skye blue gets in a brutal cutter and goes for the pin, but Maya somehow kicks out and  gets a shocking pin to advance to the semi finals. A seething Sky Blue cannot believe this.

Maya is now on her way to face off against Athena. Athena was once her mentor. How will this tournament match go when former mentor meets former mentee??

This match really did stand toe to toe with the other quarter finals matches over the past few weeks. This lived up to the hype of this week's dynamite episode of having summer blockbuster matches.

Maya came into this match as a replacement, and had the fans rooting her on all the way. Sky Blue really meshed well with Maya and gave her a hell of a fight.

Both women looked like a million bucks in this.
