  • Zelina Vega On WWE Spoiling Her Return: “Why Take That Away From Fans?

Zelina Vega appeared on the latest episode of Out of Character with Ryan Satin earlier this week. Vega spoke about her relationship with Triple H and how he has helped her throughout the years. She brought up a nickname her and husband, Malakai Black, would call him and addressed it when she announced she was marrying Black and not Andrade. “As a manager, as a person,” Vega said. “We call him ‘Papa H’ because he has been there for everything, every part of our career, even on the main roster. Any time we had a question, professionally or personally, he was always there for us. He always gave me that confidence that I needed, that extra boost that I needed. He would say things like, ‘There is no one like you right now, not even on the main roster. You can do this.’ Little things that I needed, and it helped me propel to the next level.’” Credit: WWE “Even when I told him, ‘Hey, um, I am getting married.’ He is like, ‘Oh, okay, so you and Andrade are getting married?’ No, me and Aleister. He is like, ‘What, wait? You guys completely threw me off with that. I did not even think you guys were together!’ I was like, ‘Yeah, we were hiding it for a very long time.’ He was just so happy, and he was like, ‘My babies are getting married but not the babies that I… I am just so happy for you guys.’ It was cool. He is Papa H.” Credit: WWE In July, Vega returned to WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2021 Women’s Money in the Bank. The newly crowned Women’s King of the Ring spoke about why she was unhappy with spoiled WWE return. “What made it funny was at that time when it came out, I was not back yet,” Zelina said. “It was not a thing yet, and I know that they were filming something for my husband, so that is what I was initially there for. It made it funny because I was like, this is not even 100% yet, you all are talking like it is, but then you do not know the specifics. However, I cannot tell you the specifics, so just shut up, stop.” Credit: WWE “When it is meant to be, it is meant to be, if it is meant to be. Why take that away from the fans? Those are my biggest issues with stuff like this. It is like, why ruin it and take moments away from the fans that are genuinely going to have a cool moment instead of, ‘I read on the internet that she was coming back anyway, so whatever, it is not even a big deal.’ Yeah, I know it is not a huge deal when you already know about it.” Queen Zelina will take part in the traditional five-on-five women’s Survivor Series match this Sunday. #WWE #ZelinaVega

  • Top 5 NXT Moments – Raquel Rodriguez (Raquel Gonzalez)

Raquel Gonzalez continues to prove herself as one of the most dominant forces in women’s wrestling. Rounding off the top ten PWI, her presence in and out of the ring reigns supreme in NXT. With the recent loss, what is next for the former NXT Women’s Champion? Although she is not holding the title, let’s reminisce on my top five favorite moments of Raquel. #5 – Raquel Gonzalez vs Io Shirai / NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Photo credit: WWE NXT Women’s Championship is on the line and this is might be Shirai’s toughest battle. If Gonzalez wants her hands on that title, she has to finish the reign of Shirai once and for all. Successfully, she completes the mission, beginning her own reign of terror. #4 – Raquel Gonzalez vs Ember Moon / NXT In Your House 2021 Photo credit: WWE They say in order to be the best you have to beat the best. Getting a win over former NXT Women’s champion, Ember Moon, is one difficult task. Moon herself looks to become the third two-time NXT Women’s champion at the expense of Gonzalez. With so much on the line, the hunger to win gives this match one of Raquel’s greatest victories within her dominating reign. #3 – Raquel Gonzalez vs Mercedes Martinez / NXT Photo credit: WWE Talk about a match of strength. These women fight until they have absolutely nothing left. Back and forth, the endurance is pushed and the will to win slightly fades. Martinez displays power in the ring that is just as dominating as Gonzalez, which gives the match a true war of dominance. Through it all, this victory displays the control Gonzalez has over the division and to any opponent that tries to stop her. #2 – Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai / NXT TakeOver 36 Photo credit: WWE This is the feud that everyone was waiting to explode. The build-up, the anticipation, the history. It was time for the student to face the teacher. As soon as Gonzalez won the title, the rumors begin and everyone wants to know: who will turn first? This reminds me so much of what was built between the feud of NXT legends, Sasha Banks and Bayley. The chemistry these two have in the ring gives the fans one of the best feud matches in NXT history. #1 – Raquel Gonzalez vs. Rhea Ripley / Last Woman Standing Photo credit: WWE Once close friends, now sworn enemies. Gonzalez and Ripley face off again to see just who really is the most dominating woman in NXT. Gonzalez makes Rhea very aware that backing down is not an option while Rhea plans for success. The final match is a story of power and dominance. The true tale of who will be deemed to be the leader of the pack. The battle of power lands them in the last woman standing match where the long-lasting rivalry concludes. The win over Rhea certainly came with a price and displays Gonzalez as the head in charge. • Bianca Belair Discusses True Diversity In Wrestling: ‘It’s An Amazing Moment For Representation’

“Representation itsn’t a request, it is a requirement.” Bianca Belair is more than just our EST of WWE. She embodies what representation presents to the wrestling community. During an interview with TV Insider, Belair spoke about the world of professional wrestling being in a better place right now thanks to more representation, WWE’s Tribute to the Troops, and more. Credit: WWE While fans put together their best costumes of the former Smackdown Women’s Champion for Halloween, Belair shared how she wanted to be represented unapologetically. “It is an amazing time for WWE right now for women and people of color. I started with WWE in 2016. My husband and I would have conversations about representing,” said Belair. “My main goal of how I wanted to be represented was to be unapologetically me and let people who look like me know that there are people in WWE that look like them. For Halloween, it was not just little girls. It was also grown, women. I even see little boys look up to me and are inspired by me. That is what this is all about. It is an amazing moment for representation. I will always go back to when I was a little girl. I think about how my role models have impacted me and showed me the possibilities in life. I want to do the same for others.” Belair participated in WWE’s Tribute to the Troops for the second year in a row this past Sunday, where she faced Liv Morgan. “This is my second year — the first year being part of it in front of fans. I am grateful to be part of a company that has a real commitment to the military. Also, my husband, Montez Ford, one-half of the Street Profits, is a veteran; he is a Marine. To be part of Tribute to the Troops and feeling like I am doing it as an ode to him was an amazing feeling. To be out there against Liv Morgan — it is going to be a great, competitive match.” Credit: WWE The Knoxville native shared how she has been adjusting to the atmosphere of Monday Night Raw. “We just had an incredible five-way for the opportunity to face Becky Lynch, who is the Raw women’s champion. I would have loved to have won, but I am super excited for Liv Morgan. She has put in the time and work and is someone you want to cheer for. It is her time right now. There are so many talented women in our locker room. I am heading into a feud with Doudrop, which will feel fresh. I want to be known as a great performer, a great competitor, and know when you turn on the TV screen and see Bianca Belair that you know it is going to be good.” You can always catch the EST of WWE leading the Raw Women’s Survivor Series team to victory this Sunday. #BiancaBelair #WWE

  • Charlotte Flair Shares Her Relationship With The Other Four Horsewomen: “It is An Unspoken Bond”

WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair spoke with Metro UK to discuss her career and fellow Four Horsewomen Bayley, Sasha Banks, and WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. Regardless of reports about a real-life falling out with Lynch, “The Queen” addresses how the four will always share a bond, even if they are not on speaking terms. “It is an unspoken bond,” Flair said. “Our careers have all taken different turns and ended up in different spots at different times. The level of respect is always there, no matter what. You do not… maybe we should talk about it more, but we all know how we feel about each other, what we did, and what it took, and how hard we worked to get where we are.” Credit: WWE Flair commended Banks, whom she is feuding with on the Blue brand. She is thrilled to see what is in store for both of them after in being the same ring for the first time since the brand split years ago. “I know this is so corny, but iron sharpens iron,” Flair joked. “Sasha and I have this crazy chemistry. From the moment we locked up, it was FCW at the time, which turned into NXT. It was undeniable.” Credit: WWE “To circle back around — because I tell her all the time, ‘I cannot even watch our matches from three or four years ago. They are terrible! I did not even know what I was doing, and they are so bad!’ And then to come full circle and face her again and have the experience that I have and both of us as performers, I am looking forward to seeing what we are capable of doing on TV.” Credit: WWE Apart from Banks, Flair is scheduled to face off against The Man at Survivor Series this Sunday. In Survivor Series tradition, the two will wrestle in a non-title Champion vs. Champion match. #SashaBanks #CharlotteFlair #BeckyLynch #Bayley #WWE

  • Former Impact Knockout and WWE Hall of Famer Tie The Knot in Sin City

Katie Forbes and Rob Van Dam tie the knot in Las Vegas on Thursday in a private ceremony. Recently released WWE talents, Karrion Kross and Scarlett, were of few in attendants. Later, they took to Twitter to congratulate the couple while sharing a few candid moments from the elaborate ceremony. RVD and Forbes have been dating since 2016, announcing their engagement to the wrestling world in February of this year. RVD was also inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year and can now add being a married man to that list of accomplishments. During the Hall of Fame ceremony, RVD thanks the WWE Universe and his wife for love and support throughout the years. RVD is noted as an ECW legend, shaking up WWE with his high-flying moves and will to win with whatever it takes. His win at ECW One Night Stand over former WWE Champion, John Cena, made him the first and only wrestler to hold the ECW Championship and WWE Championship. Forbes began her wrestling career in 2015 and spent time most of her time in Impact Wrestling. She faced current Digital Media Champion, Jordynee Grace, and Knockouts longest reigning champion, Taya Valkyrie. The couple made quite the Impact themselves in 2019 anytime they graced our presence in and out of the ring. In 2020, The Queen of Twerk appeared in the Impact Zone with RVD as his valet during his feud with former Impact World Champion Sami Callahan. Later that year, the couple left Impact Wrestling after their storyline, focusing on their relationship outside of the ring. Here at Women’s Wrestling Talk, we would like to congratulate the newlyweds and best wishes to come. #KatieForbes #RVD

  • Top 5 | Sasha Banks

The Boss, The Blueprint, The Standard. Sasha Banks is a six-time WWE Women’s Champion and former NXT Champion. In addition, she holds the number six spot on PWI Women’s 150 for 2021. From becoming one of the first women to main event a major WWE pay-per-view to one of the first women to enter Hell in a Cell, Banks continues to collect her accolades along the span of one of the best women’s wrestling careers of all time. With her long-time partner and friend, she became the first WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, pushing the progression of Women’s Tag Teams within WWE. As The Boss plans to lead her team to victory at Survivor Series, here are my top 5 Sasha Banks matches: #5 | Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley | NXT TakeOver Credit: WWE The four horsewomen meet in a fatal four-way to determine who deserves to call themselves NXT Women’s Champion. The Hugger is the crowd favorite to win, while The Boss plans to stop that victory as soon as the bell rings. The Queen comes in as champion, while Becky plans to change that immediately. However, Banks takes advantage, becoming NXT Women’s Champion for the first time in her career. This victory leaves the other four horsewomen stunned, leading to a path of revenge. #4 – Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss / SummerSlam 2017 Credit: WWE To no surprise, Sasha is ready to get back to winning, and Bliss will not stand in her way. The hunger these women absorb begins to settle in from the first lockup, and the frustration sets in. This is the third time we see Banks and Bliss meet up, giving this feud more story and passion for victory. In addition, this win for Banks displays the amount of desire and need she has to hold that RAW Women’s Championship, no matter what it takes. #3 | Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair | Raw Women’s Championship Falls Count Anywhere Credit: WWE First off, talk about the history and level of respect these two have for one another. Talk about being the best and displaying greatness every single time there is a meeting in the ring. Talk about setting the standard and becoming the opportunity. Lastly, talk about pure greatness and main eventing. All in all, this feud between these women will go down in history as one of the most notable feuds within the women’s evolution of WWE. As much as fans complained, this feud’s relevance has been displayed significantly as these women now reside on the same brand. This leaves fans to wonder how quickly this feud will be reignited on the blue brand. #2 | Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair | WrestleMania Credit: WWE As we discussed before in Bianca Belair’s top five, this match will forever be discussed as one of the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time. The significance of this match displays the importance of representation. This is a feeling that will be felt for years to come. For me, I always go back to this match like a proud parent watching their children go over and beyond. The emotions and passion this match has will forever be remembered by so many fans all over the world. In addition, it is one of those moments where you remember exactly where you were when it happened. Many would say this is their best moment, but once again, I have to disagree. #1 | Sasha Banks vs. Bayley | Takeover Brooklyn Credit: WWE Where do I begin? These women helped build the foundation for NXT Women’s division and the women’s evolution going forward. In addition, Sasha Banks and Bayley hold prestige, while bringing honor to the NXT Women’s Championship. In my opinion, this is a vital aspect of the NXT we see today. In my heart, this is so much more than just a match. Personally, this is one of my favorite women’s matches of all time. Banks has always done a fantastic job taking her losses, bouncing back, and making the match itself more meaningful than actually receiving the victory. In less than two weeks, The Boss plans to lead her team to give the Women’s SmackDown team their first victory. The question left on everyone’s mind is how will her developing feud with a teammate, Shotzi, play a part in reaching that victory? Tune into Survivor Serious Sunday, November 21st, to find out. Be sure to check out more top 5 matches and moments exclusively here on Women’s Wrestling Talk. #SashaBanks #CharlotteFlair #BiancaBelair #Bayley #WWENXT #WWE

  • Tony Khan Plans To Make AEW Women’s Division His Focal Point In 2022

On Thursday (Nov. 11), AEW President Tony Khan was asked various questions from the media ahead of this Saturday night’s (Nov. 13) Full Gear pay-per-view. Khan discusses his plans to elevate the women’s division, bringing Double or Nothing 2022 back to Las Vegas and more. One question, in particular, had social media in a frenzy due to Khan’s response to AEW potentially doing an all-women’s event. NWA had Empowerr in August, and Impact had Knockout Knockdown in October, for reference. Ella Jay of SEScoops asked Khan, “The bar I think has been raised this year with a lot of all women’s shows and main events taking place, but does AEW have any plans or hopes to contribute maybe an all-women’s event of their own some time…” Jay was cut off by Khan, who seems to have been taken back by her opening statement. “I am going to cut off your question right there because I do not think I get enough credit for what I did for the NWA show because a good number of the people who wrestled on the NWA show were wrestlers I sent and paid. So, I think I contributed because the highest-paid wrestlers on that show were the people I paid separately from what they already make in AEW to wrestle on that show. Moreover, I do not think they did an excellent job of telling people that, honestly, even though it was in the deal we did. I wish they told more people that because it was one of the points I made when we closed it, was I think it would be nice if you told people that I am paying the wrestlers coming because it is a big contribution from me…So I did pay the wrestlers for that show. It is kind of like when you pay for dinner, and nobody thanks you.” As the media call progressed, more questions about the TBS championship tournament made Tony Khan feel extremely excited to share his plans to make the AEW women’s division his focal point next year. He followed up by praising Ruby Soho, Thunder Rosa, and more. “I have been making a big effort this year to grow and improve our women’s division. We have added big free agents, and I am excited about what’s happening with the TBS tournament. Among the big free agents, we have added Thunder Rosa, who came from NWA, and Ruby Soho. With Ruby, she was imposing, and I had a great conversation with her a couple of days ago. She is in the TBS Championship tournament. She said that she loved this tournament. She loves all of the stories in it because if you look at it, there is a story being built with her and Kris Statlander.” Khan continues to break down the growth in the women’s division and look at the TBS Championship and TNT Championship as sibling titles while acknowledging Dr. Britt Baker as a great AEW Women’s champion. “Britt Baker is a great champion and whoever wins the TBS championship. We have a number contender Tay Conti, who is in line to wrestle for the world title. I did the TBS championship bracket, okay, let us take the top five, and we had number 2345. Jade Cargill, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, and Kris Statlander. I gave them what we would have in like the NFL, or in a sports tournament by taking the tops seeds and giving them a buy.” Khan expressed that Tay Conti has improved in the ring the most in his eyes. “I always thought she was a great prospect. For years, I have admired her, and I was shocked that she was one of the people to hire. I was happy to snap her up very quickly.” Less than a month into the new year, we hope to see a massive elevation in AEW’s women’s division. #AEW #TonyKhan #womenswrestling
