Alexa Bliss has been in WWE for almost a decade. Alexa has done it all, from NXT to two-time Smackdown Women’s Champion, three-time Raw Women’s Champion, and three-time Women’s Tag Team Champion. She is a former 24/7 Champion, Elimination Chamber winner, and Money in the Bank winner.
She has frequently changed her character and personality in WWE. Bliss worked hard in every role, from the Goddess to Little Miss Bliss to evil Alexa. She excelled in hosting even after being injured. As a heel, she’s sassy, says what she’s thinking, tells a story with her face, and controls a crowd. She can cheer the crowd as a face. After being attacked by Bray Wyatt/The Fiend in 2020, she changed drastically. Bliss became a villain with a doll named Lilly who helped the Fiend win matches and frighten his opponents. Alexa betrayed the Fiend at Wrestlemania 37, costing him his Randy Orton match. Alexa continued her evil character, winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Nikki Cross, but eventually left television.
Bliss returned with a more subdued evil side. Alexa has lost her character over the weeks. She’s had success teaming with Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair to fight Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, and Dakota Kai). Alexa and Asuka briefly held the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Since her alliance and return to WWE, Alexa has been off. She resembles her previous character but wants to be a fan favorite. We don’t know her motives because she hasn’t been promoted much, which is her strength. She seems awkward around Bianca and Asuka like she doesn’t know what to do. Alexa’s team won the War Games match at Survivor Series on Sunday, but she seemed out of place among Bianca, Asuka, Mia Yim, and Becky Lynch. Her wrestling is still great, but she seems to be losing interest, which makes me wonder if she’s lost with this character.
I like Alexa best as a heel and with a microphone. She can engage the crowd in any match and advance a story. She also knows how to win by cheating, making the crowd hate her more. Her “Moment of Bliss” talk show, where she showed off her personality, was also great. Because she’s one of the best on the team, it’s sad that we haven’t seen her personality in recent months. I hope Alexa turns on Asuka and Bianca and challenges Bianca for the Raw Women’s Championship. If Alexa can cut promos and advance stories as only she can, I’d be fine with her challenging Ronda Rousey for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
WWE’s women’s division is great, and they’re getting more time to shine and better treatment than in the past. Alexa has always contributed, and she can help the division more. I hope Little Miss Bliss returns soon and Alexa gets her attitude back.
