The Fashionista: Jinny

This season’s latest haute couture may be seen on Jinny as well as she can be seen in her ringside attire, since she is born and raised in the ultra-premium Knightsbridge region of West London. ProGRESS Wrestling’s first female graduate, Jinny, has been stealing the show in promotions all over the United Kingdom for decades.

Wrestling first caught her eye at the age of nine with the likes of Jushin Liger, Lita, and Trish Stratus all had a profound effect on her. In 2012, she earned a BS in Psychology from Birmingham City University. Jinny debuted in January 2015 and beat Lana Austin to become the inaugural South Coast Queen Of The Ring Champion. As a member of Pro Wrestling Chaos, Jinny was defeated by Leva Bates at Professional Wrestling Chaos 20. Sierra Loxton and Melina avenged Jinny and Jetta’s setback in 2017. Jinny defeated Martina and became the first champion of the Maiden Of Chaos Championship.

During her time in ProGRESS, Jinny matched up with the best on the indie’s scene. From Toni Storm, Leva Bates, Kay Lee Ray, Deonna Purrazzo, Mercedes Martinez and many others. Jinny beat Toni Storm in Chapter 69 to claim her maiden title as Progress Women’s Champion. Jinny defeated Dakota Kai to successfully reclaim the crown. She lost the championship to Jordynne Grace on 30 December.

Jinny made her debut in 2016 for the German brand Westside Xtreme Wrestling, beating Dahlia Black. When Shanna and Melanie Gray were there, she lost to Alpha Female in a four-way fight that also saw them. Jinny triumphed over Thunder Rosa in 2017.

Her first match in Revolution Pro Wrestling was in June 2016, when she beat Addy Starr. In 2017, she won over Veda Scott. It was Jinny’s first title, and she beat Deonna Purrazzo to win the RevPro British Women’s Title Tournament. She defended the championship successfully against Millie McKenzie and Bea Priestley. In 2018, Jinny was beaten by Jamie Hayter for the championship.

When Jinny first appeared in the WWE ring at WrestleMania Axxess in 2017, WWE fans saw her violent style and controlling demeanor firsthand. Jinny was signed to a WWE contract a little over a year later, in June 2018. She was named at the moment as one of four women who would fight in a fatal four-way match on day one of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament to decide the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Jinny was injured during the bout, which forced her to exit, and the match was eventually converted to a triple threat involving Toni Storm, Killer Kelly, and Isla Dawn. The Fashionista’s career has taken off since she teamed up with Joseph Conners, and she’s just as lethal and haughty as ever thanks to their interesting combination.

Jinny competed at the 2018 Mae Young Classic in July, where she was eliminated in the first round by Toni Storm. Jinny was revealed as a member of the women’s roster for the newly formed NXT UK brand shortly after her involvement in the Mae Young Classic. She made her broadcast debut on the 7 November program, when she assaulted Dakota Kai from behind after she lost a bout against Toni Storm. Jinny then entered a competition for the first NXT UK Women’s Championship, where she defeated Millie McKenzie in the first round before losing in the semifinals against Toni Storm.

Jinny and the debuting Jazzy Gabert interrupted a bout between Killer Kelly and Xia Brookside on the May 15, 2019, edition of WWE NXT UK, assaulting the two and enlisting Gabert as her enforcer. She and other ladies participated in a battle royal on the June 19th edition of NXT UK to decide who would get a future shot at the NXT UK Women’s Championship. She was beaten by Brookside during the bout. Jinny beat Brookside owing to Gabert’s interference on the July 17 broadcast of NXT UK.

Jinny has recently competed against Piper Niven, Kay Lee Ray, Isla Dawn, and Meiko Satomura, but was unsuccessful in their title match on November 4 of NXT UK. She began a rivalry with Amale earlier this year and defeated her by pinfall on NXT UK on January 27, 2022.

One of the greatest talents to emerge from the British wrestling rebirth, period. Jinny, a veteran heel, surpasses the catty bitch heels of Western women’s wrestling and captures the snooty ice queen style beautifully. She is also a hard worker who has established herself as NXT UK’s best female antagonist. Definitely a talent to keep an eye on.

A devastating attack that includes an X-Factor on the middle rope and a ripcord clothesline is at Jinny’s disposal, and she will not rest until she has captured the NXT UK Women’s Championship.
