Nyla Rose made her professional wrestling debut in December 2012. She wrestled for various promotions including Women Superstars Uncensored and United Pro Wrestling Association, among others. Rose also traveled internationally where she competed in promotions such as Pro Wrestling Zero1 and Sendai Girls Pro Wrestling in Japan. She continued wrestling for independent promotions until All Elite Wrestling began.
Nyla Rose has been with AEW since almost the beginning of the company. She signed with them in February of 2019, making history by becoming the first openly transgender wrestler to sign a contract with a major American wrestling company. She made her debut at Double or Nothing when she faced Britt Baker, Kylie Rae, and surprise participant in the match, Awesome Kong. Nyla turned heel over the following months, and she eventually found herself with a spot in the Women’s Casino Battle Royal at All Out 2019. Nyla won the battle royal and earned herself a shot at the AEW Women’s Championship. She faced the Champion, Riho, on the February 12th, 2020, edition of Dynamite where she was victorious.

Nyla became the first trans wrestler to win a major American wrestling title by capturing the AEW Women’s Championship. Nyla lost her championship to Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing 2020. She continued to be featured prominently on AEW television, and on July 15th, 2020, announced Vickie Guerrero as her manager. Nyla has participated in several plots and feuds since then, including the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup with Ariane Andrew and the first TBS Championship tournament. Thunder Rosa, the current AEW Women’s Champion, is her most recent opponent.

When she’s not wrestling, Nyla can usually be found streaming on Twitch. She loves playing video games and is also a toy collector. Rose regularly appears on Ethan Page’s Toy Hunt vlog, as well as the AEW Games Twitch and YouTube channel. She generates turmoil on Twitter and was nominated “Best Twitter Follow” at the AEW Year End Awards.
I think it is safe to say that we can still expect a lot from Nyla Rose. She is a prominent part of AEW’s women’s division, and I believe will make even more history in the future. I hope she becomes the first two-time AEW Women’s Champion. I expect to see her hilarious side in AEW as she continues to dominate.
