Veda Scott: The Queer, Non-Binary Queen

Veda Scott is a bubbly and energetic being that fills up any room they are in. During their first years of wrestling, Scott enrolls in law school. In 2012, Scott graduates from Drexel University School of Law, later becoming an editor for Drexel Law Review.

The Law Of Wrestling

Their work travels through many promotions such as Absolute Intense Wrestling, Shimmer Women Athletes, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, All Elite Wrestling, and Ring of Honor. Veda Scott faces former champions Gail Kim and Rosemary during their run in TNA, competing in TNA One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 2 and 4. Scott is the current International Wrestling Syndicate World Women’s Champion, working with the promotion since 2017.

In addition, Veda Scott places as PWI Rookie of the Year in 2012. They are a former AIW Women’s Champion and former Legacy Wrestling Women’s Champion. During AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw, Scott joins commentary. Shortly after, she is seen a few times back on commentary during AEW Dark.

Love In Wrestling

In the later part of 2020, Scott gets engaged to notable wrestler, Mike Bailey. This year, they tied the knot in Las Vegas. Last year on the first day of Pride month, Veda Scott came out as a “queer, non-binary person.” She goes on to say,

“I figured out “me” long ago – carved out a confident little space But! if you’re still exploring, if your language keeps evolving, if you aren’t sure if you’ll ever *be* sure – just know you’re wonderful & important I’m so proud of you. #pride

I admire the courage and strength Veda Scott took to come out, being able to live freely in their truth. Her story gives me hope as we see progression within wrestling. If you want to follow their journey, be sure to subscribe to Veda Scott on YouTube and enjoy the ride!
