Wendy Choo vs Elayna Black

NXT’s Wendy Choo returns to TNA to really show what she can bring to the KO TV Title tournament. So far one competitor from NXT has advanced in the tournament. Will Wendy will be added to that list? 

Wendy and Elayna have history with one another. Even being friends at one point. 

Wendy comes into this match as a former EVOLVE Womens champ and has a lot of momentum behind her. 

So does Elayna in many ways. Elayna has really rebuilt and reintroduced herself to the wrestling world during the past few months in TNA. So both women are meeting up again at great times in their careers. 

We see a strong lock up with both women. Elayna takes the lead initially and toys and mocks Wendy. Taking her out to the ring and throwing in some mean chops to the chest. Already feeling cocky like this win is imminent. 

Elayna keeps a strong head lock in and Wendy feeds off of the crowd to get out of it. A high knee kick to the face of Wendy almost takes her out. Once again, the fans help to fire Wendy up as she gains the upper hand in this match. A neck breaker and pin almost gets the win for Wendy, but Elayna doesn’t give up this opportunity so easily. 

Another attempted pin from Wendy after a successful DDT still doesn’t give her the win. 

A series of punches back and forth results in Wendy Choo being smart to leave the ring to avoid getting pinned. As she is visibly winded after such a hard hitting match. 

Wendy gets a superplex off the top rope on Black, but doesn’t immediately go for the pin. 

The match is suddenly cut short, as the ten minute time limit was exceeded. Resulting in both women being eliminated from the tournament. 

Which I honestly thinks sucks. The fans in attendance thought so as well. 

After this is announced, the TNA Knockouts world champion Xia Brookside comes out and attacks Elayna Black, and shockingly Wendy comes to Elayna Black’s aid. 

I’m not sure how I feel about both women being eliminated. I’m hopeful that a good story can come from this. 

Other wise it was waste of a return for Wendy Choo and the loss of potentially stellar tournament matches that either woman could’ve delivered. 

In my opinion, the solution to the time limit could’ve been a triple threat match for the next round in the tournament. Where both Wendy and Elayna would’ve moved forward and whoever else was on the bracket would’ve faced both women. That would’ve been better to me then having such a great match with both women and neither being able to move forward.
