Becky Lynch turned a few heads in 2022 after a meteoric rise. Lynch’s weekly cheers have earned her a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Lynch began the year as the Raw Women’s Champion after capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam and trading titles with Charlotte Flair during the 2021 Draft. In her first title defense of the year, she faced WWE Hall of Famer Lita at Elimination Chamber. After losing the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38 to Bianca Belair, the pair had a fantastic summer schedule.
Lynch had multiple opportunities to win the championship, including a Triple Threat Match with Asuka at Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank, as well as a championship match at SummerSlam. After Damage CTRL debuted, the two women respected each other and stood together as sisters-in-arms. Lynch was sidelined for three months due to a shoulder injury sustained during the match.
The return of Lynch to SmackDown on November 25 as the fifth member of Team Bianca Belair was fantastic. Her return to the company was sweeter after she helped her team win with a leg drop onto IYO SKY’s head in a trash can.
Women’s Wrestling Talk cannot wait to see what “The Man” has in store for 2023!
