Emma (Tenille Dashwood) Returns to WWE

It seems like wrestling is full of surprises. With two major companies in serious transition periods, big surprises and returns are a weekly occurrence. As Triple H’s vision of WWE continues to take shape, the October 28th edition of SmackDown saw yet another return. Emma (Tenille Dashwood) is back in WWE. Answering the call to Ronda Rosey’s WWE Women’s Championship open challenge, Emma faced off against the champion.

A woman of few words, Dashwood tweeted her excitement at being back where she belonged.

5 years ago today I was heartbroken feeling like my dream had come to an end. Today my heart is so full! ❤️ I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support I have. You guys are the best. Now… I’ve got some unfinished business to take care of! 😎 @WWE pic.twitter.com/PspxTxEhLF — Tenille Dashwood (@EmmaWWE) October 29, 2022

But WWE’s first Australian women’s wrestler wasn’t the only one to voice their happiness. A host of former WWE talent took to social media to show their support. Despite how paths diverge, and people drop in and out of wrestling companies, it is always great to see wrestlers show their love for other wrestlers. In a world that was once staunchly private about showing even the slightest bit of kindness, it is these moments that shows the toxicity of the wrestling locker room is continuing to thaw.

I’m so proud of my best friend 🥹🥹 So excited for you @TenilleDashwood ❤️❤️ you deserve every single minute of it all! ILYSM! Meme was freaking out! pic.twitter.com/9ro2g3c1j5 — Summer Rae (@DanielleMoinet) October 29, 2022

Dashwood’s return marks a five-year absence from WWE. On October 29th, 2017, Dashwood officially left the company and has since gone on to wrestle for the likes of Ring of Honour and, most recently, Impact Wrestling. There she captured the Impact Tag Team Championship with Madison Rayne. Also, Dashwood was the first woman, alongside Paige, to wrestle for the NXT Women’s championship in 2013.

Is Emma here to stay? Where do you think she would fit in the WWE’s Women’s roster? Let us know what you think. We love hearing from you.
