NWA 78 at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia Recap

What better way to spend your Saturday Night with some good old fashion wrestling? This past Saturday was a special treat as I got to attend a National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) show at the historic 2300 Area in Philadelphia, PA. For a quick refresher, NWA is one of the most storied and treasured wrestling companies founded in 1948 by Paul “Pinkie” George and five other regional promoters, including Al Haft and Sam Muchnick, to unify the fragmented territorial wrestling system under a single world championship banner. Currently owned by musician Billy Corgan’s Lightning One, Inc., NWA continues to influence the pro wrestling landscape through streaming content, championship tournaments, and nostalgic branding solidifying their reputation as a cornerstone of professional wrestling history and wrestling entertainment.

The event brought the crowd to their feet that featured some matches from their women's division to show women's wrestling is here to stay. Headlined by the feature appearance of WWE Star and friend of WWT, Natayla Neidhart competed in a triple threat match against the NWA Women's Tag Team Champions Kenzie and Kylie Paige. The match went back and forth that did see a little tension between Kenzie and Kylie but Nattie got the win in the end. She continues to show that she still is the Low-Key Legend.

We also had an appearance from the NWA World Women's Television Champion Gisele Shaw as she defended the title against Sirena Veil. This match was personal from the start of the show as Gisele and Sirena came to blows after Sirena's tag team match she participated in. This was one of those matches that went back and forth that provided enough energy from the crowd. Surprisingly, we have a new NWA World Women's Television Champion with Sirena Veil at the top and curious to see what her reign is going to look like.

Ending things off as we had former NWA World Women’s Champion “The Crush” Natalia Markova vs. The Giant Gretta, accompanied by TV-MA’s reigning NWA World Women’s Champion “La Princesa” Tiffany Nieves & Ms. Starr. Did I mention there were weapons involved in this match? Both these ladies didn't back down from one another and of course the reigning NWA World Women’s Champion “La Princesa” decided to get involved but showed everyone why she is the top woman in the NWA Women's Division. In the end, The Giant Gretta ended up getting the victory but this doesn't look like the war between Natalia Markova and Tiffany Nieves is far from over.

I am glad I had the opportunity to attend and cover NWA in Philadelphia.
