NXT 2.0 – September 13
This week’s NXT 2.0 video package recaps the brand’s last year, highlighting Toxic Attraction’s ascension. The first women’s segment for tonight is Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley.
Lash Legend vs. Fallon Henley (with Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen and Mason “The Night Howler” Ramirez)

Right after Fallon’s entrance, Lash knees her in the abdomen, throwing Fallon’s face towards the mat then chopped her. Lash gets a hold of Fallon, but she reverses it, bounces off the ropes for a low kick to Lash’s knee. Fallon kicks Lash’s face as she falls on the mat. Fallons runs towards Lash, she’s able to push Fallon out of the way, she lands on the apron but is able to chop Lash. As Fallon is setting up her next move while on the apron, Lash kicks her with a big boot, Fallon lands on the outside.

Lash takes Fallon by the hair, pushes her towards the post until Fallon crashes onto it. Lash picks up Fallon, pushes her towards the apron, her back hitting it then brings her in the ring. Legend knees Fallon’s abdomen, then pushes her towards the ropes and knees her again. Lash puts Fallon on her back for a submission, but Fallon reverses it and kicks Lash away.
As Lash gets up, Fallon kicks her, then ducks and smacks her twice before pushing her to the corner. Fallon ducks to escape Lash’s boot as Henley runs the ropes to attack her. Fallon uses the ropes as leverage to set up a bulldog to Lash. As Legend is recovering, Fallon runs to a corner and returns to kick Lash and pin attempt for the victory.

Astrid’s Point
This was a quick match but it definitely showcased Fallon’s improvement in the ring and how much the fans have grown to love her. I hope they build her up to something more in the women’s division.

Yulisa Leon, Valentina Feroz and Sanga backstage
Backstage after the match, Yulisa tells Valentina and Sanga about her 9-month knee ailment. They support her and Sanga tells Valentina it’s her time to shine too. Stone interrupts along with Von Wagner, Stone tells Sanga he’s upset too. Sanga doesn’t like how they’re speaking when the ladies are present which upsets Von, Stone separates Von from Sanga.
Astrid’s Point
I was wondering when the injury happened as they didn’t state that, but I liked having Sanga encourage Valentina to keep moving hard even when her parent is out for the moment.

Fallon Henley and Mandy Rose Backstage
Josh and Brooks are celebrating Fallon’s triumph backstage when they encounter Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne, and Mandy Rose). He tells Mandy, “I saw your Instagram post last week, you looked amazing.” Brooks isn’t able to compose himself, he looks at Josh for assistance. Mandy responds, “Eww, in your dreams, kid.” Brooks says, “How do you know you’re in my dreams?” Fallon interrupts Mandy, she tells Fallon, “You don’t talk to the champ like that.” Fallon doesn’t like the way Mandy is speaking to Brooks, tells Mandy, “I’m not scared of you honey.” Rose tells Gigi and Jacy, “I remember when I won my first match,” mocking Fallon’s victory against Lash. Fallon is about to get physical when Josh and Brooks pull her away from Mandy.
Astrid’s Point
This is a follow up to my earlier point, I like having Fallon being built as the next person to face Mandy even if she doesn’t win because it’ll showcase her even further and her character as well. I did wonder what that meant for her storyline with Lash.
Toxic Attraction Promo (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne)
Mandy says she’s back from vacation looking better: “I took out the two best women in NXT UK history. You know what? When NXT Europe begins, if I choose to, I’ll run that too.” Jacy says, “We’re the super group of all super groups.” Gigi responds, “When you think of NXT, you think of Toxic Attraction.” She also said, “Jacy and I elevated the NXT Women’s Tag Titles to become the most important tag titles in the industry.”
Jacy says, “Kayden and Katana, those titles are on loan to you, you’re welcome. As for Ivy and Tatum, you can pop up on social media all you want but we’ll soon prove to you just what we’ve proven to everyone else for the last year, that there’s Toxic Attraction and then there’s everybody else.” Rose says, “We said we are the baddest bitches in the room and in 365 days, we’ve proven that” as she lists the accolades from Gigi and Jacy and her long reign as NXT Women’s Champion.

“Bron and Melo, they’re great champions, I’ll give them that, but they haven’t been carrying this title as long as I have,” Rose says.

Mandy is interrupted by Alba Fyre, “You may have unified both titles, but you know nothing about where I come from. You see in Scotland, we don’t brag on and on just because we like the sound of our own voice. We let do our hard work do the talking for us. Mandy, when you are looking in my eyes, you see a battle tested warrior, spawn from generations of fire keepers. You see your demise and most importantly, you see the new NXT Women’s Champion.” Alba enters the ring, points her bat to Gigi and Jacy who move along until Alba reaches Mandy, she forces it on Mandy’s throat then turns to fight back Gigi and Jacy.

Alba hits Gigi and Jacy in the abdomen to make them retreat; Mandy ducks to escape being hit. She kicks Mandy to set up the Gory bomb, but Gigi and Jacy help Mandy escape. Fyre aims for the championship, but Mandy retrieves it on their way out.

Astrid’s Point
I loved this promo from Toxic Attraction to be able to recap their dominance this past year and highlight what they have done plus having Alba interrupt Mandy as I hope she is the one that will dethrone her soon.
“I didn’t change, you just never knew me.” – Cora Jade
“The last twelve months were about me finding myself, I came to NXT wanting to make an impact, obsessed with impressing people, getting people to like me. I wanted people to think, damn, Cora Jade is the next big superstar here in NXT. Somehow, I wasn’t seen that way,” as we get a recap of Natalya coming to NXT and slapping Cora a few months ago.
“To be honest, it messed with me a little bit, got in my head and cost me those early title matches but it all clicked in my match with Nattie, it was one hell of a match and yeah I lost but I left that ring with Nattie’s respect. You know, I was sitting in the locker room thinking, screw what people think, I am a star.” Cora says she doesn’t want to waste her TV time on trash when referring to Roxanne Perez. We have a video recap of their rise as tag team championship to her betrayal to Roxanne.
“I am living my best life; I don’t need anyone’s approval especially these fans.” Cora gives her opinion on the locker room including Zoey, Nikkita, Lash, Indi, Alba and for Toxic Attraction, “I still don’t like them but now I understand them. And Wendy Choo, Wendy makes me laugh, she’s like a human stuffed animal, kind of pathetic, kind of feel bad for her, she doesn’t belong in the ring, she belongs in the corner of a baby’s playroom.”
“The Generation of Jade is only going to get bigger; my star is only to shine brighter and by this time next year, I will be the number one woman in this entire industry.”
Astrid’s Point
I enjoyed how Cora was highlighted through this interview, it showed her character’s growth this past year, I have hope she will be champion in this next year in NXT. I did notice that while she discussed a lot of women in the locker room, she didn’t say anything about Tiffany Stratton.
Wendy Choo Interview
Wendy is asked about Cora’s comments, her response, “To me, the Generation of Jade is just jealous of Roxanne.” Also, “she just jealous of Roxanne that she’s iced everyone out. I may dress like this, but I smart person.” Wendy is interrupted by Lash Legend. Choo doesn’t like the interruption, Lash tells her, “I am Lash Legend the one and only,” Wendy interrupts her. Wendy responds, “The last time a bimbo tried to come up at me, I had her lights turned out.”
Astrid’s Point
I liked how Wendy responded to Cora just like in Cora’s promo, I wonder why Tiffany wasn’t mentioned by Wendy. Also, by having Lash interrupt Wendy, I wondered to another earlier point about Lash vs. Fallon as it seems she has moved on to Wendy next. Wendy and Cora are facing each other next week.

Arianna Grace & Kiana James vs. Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark
Kiana and Zoey lock up, Zoey takes over with a headlock, Kiana reverses it by locking her legs around Zoey’s throat, Zoey kicks up to get out of it. Stark returns to the headlock, James attempts to break it but Stark locks it again. Kiana gets out of it and locks a headlock of her own, Zoey forces Kiana to her knees, reverses it, pushing Kiana towards the ropes but Kiana reverses it, she goes after Zoey, but Stark was able to jump behind Kiana to avoid it. James turns around, Zoey pulls Kiana to the mat or a submission.
Zoey moves to her corner, tags in Nikkita. Lyons takes over with the headlock on Kiana, reverses it to another lock and returns to the headlock. James pushes Nikkita to the ropes, goes to her next move but Nikkita hits her abdomen and suplexes Kiana. James leaves the ring in frustration, she is about to use her purse against Nikkita, but Arianna insists that she doesn’t, pulling her away from it. Nikkita and Zoey get closer to Kiana and Arianna while the referee keeps them distant.

Arianna is in control of Nikkita, Lyons has Arianna on her shoulders, splashes her on the mat. Nikkita rolls over to elbow Arianna while she’s recovering in the corner, throwing Arianna to the middle of the ring, Nikkita runs to clothesline her. Lyons kicks Arianna’s throat goes for a pin attempt. Nikkita holds on to Arianna, tags in Zoey, holding to Arianna herself, she clotheslines her. Zoey strikes and knees Arianna, Zoey all fired up. Arianna runs to her corner, tags in Kiana, who doesn’t want to come in the ring.

Kiana is trying to convince Zoey about not fighting her then attempts to strike Zoey who ducked. Zoey turns to chop Kiana then clotheslining her too, running the ropes to strike Kiana again. Zoey runs to Kiana who slides out of the ring, Zoey goes after her but Kiana clotheslines Zoey instead. Nikkita is coming behind Kiana who turns around just in time, the referee is yelling at them to return to the ring. Kiana brings Zoey inside the ring; she stomps Zoey and goes for a pin attempt. James has a submission locked in, Zoey elbows Kiana’s abdomen to make her break it up. James knees Zoey, pushing Zoey towards the ropes then holding on to her for a back breaker and pin attempt.

Stark is crawling to her corner to tag in Nikkita, James elbows Nikkita so she isn’t available for the tag. James focuses on Zoey, Stark pushes her over her head, she tags in Arianna. Grace pushes Zoey towards the ropes, Zoey responds with a kick to Arianna’s face and clotheslines her. Zoey hits her with a back elbow and a kick to Arianna’s knee as Nikkita is making her way to her corner. Stark is fired up, runs to the ropes for a low kick to Arianna, kicks James in the corner. Arianna hits Zoey with a big boot and pin attempt. Zoey hits her finisher, tags in Nikkita who gives her round house kick and split followed by a pin attempt and victory.

Astrid’s Point
I didn’t see much chemistry between Kiana and Arianna, but they have opportunities to improve that. Nikkita and Zoey are being shown as a threat to the tag team division, perhaps they’ll face the champions soon.
Sol Ruca Video Package
NXT Logo Change
Astrid’s Point
After seeing this, I was excited to see how NXT would change but my hope is that they keep the momentum they have with their women’s division as they are using them properly throughout the whole show, whether it’s a video package, a promo, an interview or a match, most of their roster is used on a weekly basis.
