Recent Update On Thunder Rosa Injury Recovery

Thunder Rosa revealed she will be out of commission due to an injury and would have to stand aside on the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Rosa is still the champion even though an interim AEW Women’s Champion are announce at AEW All Out. Rosa later disclosed that she has a back ailment.

In an interview with the Gimme a Hull Yeah! Wrestling Podcast, AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa highlighted her injury and rehab.

“I just came out of therapy, it’s my second day officially doing therapy for my injuries. I feel better. Walked out saying I do feel better. We’ll see later. It’s going to take a little while, definitely. It is positive because I know I can heal, that’s always a positive. In every other aspect, it is a positive because I get a chance to really think about the future, my present, and really reflect on the past and see what worked and what didn’t work.”

AEW President Tony Khan wants to go with an interim title instead of removing it off Rosa.

“I have told her [Thunder Rosa] just as I mentioned to CM Punk when he was injured that, ‘I would like for you to remain the champion. Get healthy, come back and we’ll have a big unification match to crown an undisputed champion when Thunder Rosa returns. Both of them offered to relinquish the title and I told each of them, separately, that when they came back from their injuries, they would still be recognized as the champion but by the time they came back, there would be an interim champion which would set up an exciting situation.”

Rosa’s absence is unknown. She updated Busted Open Radio listeners about her injury. Thunder Rosa is presently out due to a back issue. AEW will crown an interim champion at All Out on Sunday with Toni Storm, Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida. When Rosa returns, she’ll confront the temporary champion to unify titles.
