WWE had their first and (as of this writing) only all-women’s pay per view on October 28th, 2018, in the form of WWE Evolution. In this article, I will be looking at what each woman who competed on the show is currently doing in 2022.
Trish Stratus and Lita vs. Mickie James and Alicia Fox (with Alexa Bliss)
Trish Stratus currently makes various appearances for the WWE, including a feud with Becky Lynch that culminated in Stratus slapping Lynch at a house show in Toronto. She recently announced she just took part in an upcoming movie.
Lita also makes various appearances for WWE with the most recent being a match against Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship at Elimination Chamber 2022. She also was recently featured on an episode of the Broken Skull Sessions with Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Mickie James is currently competing for Impact Wrestling, where she is a former champion. She made history when she entered the 2022 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble as the Impact Women’s Champion.
Alicia Fox retired a year later, in 2019, after over ten years with the company. She makes sporadic appearances for WWE such as competing in the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble, and being involved in 24/7 Championship stories.
Alexa Bliss still competes in WWE, although she has been inactive for some time. She was last seen at the 2022 Elimination Chamber. She also recently got married to Ryan Cabrera. The Goddess made her return recently to Monday Night Raw and faced Sonya Deville.
20 Women Over the Top Battle Royal to Determine Number One Contender
Nia Jax has not wrestled since being released. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay announced they were stepping away from wrestling indefinitely and were in Impact most recently. Molly Holly currently works as a producer for WWE and also competed in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. Kelly Kelly also competed in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. Torrie Wilson was another participant in this year’s Royal Rumble. Sonya Deville is still in WWE and has been feuding with Raw Women’s Champion, Bianca Belair. Alundra Blayze has not been around and made headlines when she voiced her frustration with not being included in the WWE 2K22 game. Maria Kanellis has been unstoppable in the world of women’s professional wrestling. She currently works for Impact, has a huge part in Women’s Wrestling Army, and has various other projects she does. Lana has not wrestled since being released.
Mandy Rose is the current NXT Women’s Champion and leads Toxic Attraction. Dana Brooke is still with the WWE and is the current 24/7 Champion. Michelle McCool was another participant in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble. Naomi is also still with the company and holds the Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Sasha Banks. Carmella still competes for WWE and has a tag team title run with Zelina Vega. She also just married Corey Graves. Ivory was another legend that competed in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble.
Asuka recently returned from injury and will likely be facing Becky Lynch in the near future. Tamina still competes on Raw and has been in a feud with Dana Brooke (and others) in the quest for the 24/7 Championship. Zelina Vega won the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Carmella and regularly competes on Raw. Ember Moon was released from the WWE in 2022 and has competed in various independent promotions since.
Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai (Mae Young Classic Finals)
Toni Storm was granted her release from the company in late 2021. She currently competes for AEW and is a participant in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
Io Shirai is a member of the NXT 2.0 roster where she’s recently challenged for the NXT Women’s Championship in an unsuccessful effort.
Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Natalya vs. the Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan)
Sasha Banks has been having a great year so far. Not only did she finally get a win at WrestleMania, but she also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Naomi.
Bayley has been out of action for all of 2022, but I am hoping that she makes her return very soon.
Natalya has most recently been seen on NXT 2.0 where she has been feuding with Cora Jade and others. Her most recent match was in a tag match with Lash Legend against Cora and Nikkita Lyons.
Ruby Riott currently wrestles in AEW as Ruby Soho where she can regularly be seen on TV, and on various YouTube Vlogs and shows featuring AEW talent.
Liv Morgan still competes in the WWE and was teaming with Rhea Ripley until Rhea turned on her and went on to join Judgment Day.
Sarah Logan announced she was leaving professional wrestling in 2020 but made her return at this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. She announced shortly after that she was now a part of the Control Your Narrative promotion.
Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane (NXT Women’s Championship)
Shayna Baszler currently competes on Smackdown and has been in various feuds throughout the year.
Kairi Sane left the WWE during the pandemic and made her return to wrestling for Japanese promotion, Stardom, but unfortunately suffered an injury during her second match back. It is not known when she will be ready to return, but I wish her all the best and hope to see her soon.
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (Last Woman Standing Match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship)
Becky Lynch has been having a great year. Up until WrestleMania 38, she had been Raw Women’s Champion for all of 2022, and the last half of 2021. She is currently seen each week on Raw where she has started feuding with Asuka.
Charlotte Flair has also been having an incredible year. She was Smackdown Women’s Champion for all of 2022 until WrestleMania Backlash where she lost in an “I Quit” match. Rumors are currently swirling that the Queen will be taking some much-deserved time off to marry her fiancé, Andrade, this summer.
Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella (with Brie Bella)
Ronda Rousey left the WWE in 2019, but returned as a surprise entrant in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, where she won the match and earned a championship match at WrestleMania. She lost the match to Charlotte Flair but got her revenge when she beat Charlotte a month later at WrestleMania Backlash and became the new Smackdown Women’s Champion.
Nikki Bella has kept herself extremely busy since leaving wrestling. She runs multiple businesses with her sister, Brie, she was just announced as the host for a new TV show, had a baby, and even had time to compete in the women’s Royal Rumble this year. Her social media is always full of her exciting business endeavors. Brie Bella joins Nikki on various businesses including a podcast and clothing line (and many other projects). She also competed in the women’s Royal Rumble this year, just a few months after having her second child with Bryan Danielson.
