WWT Top 25 Women Wrestlers of 2022: #3 Jade Cargill

Updated: Aug 8, 2023

God knows I’ve talked enough about Jade Cargill this year to be writing this article. Only her second year in the business, the baddest baddie in AEW, has continued to go from strength to strength.

Jade’s 2022 started with a bang winning the TBS Title Tournament, defeating Ruby Soho, who felt like the safe bet to be the inaugural champion. Instead, AEW took a risk and placed the belt on someone with relatively little experience. But boy, was that the right decision to make.

Since then, Jade has gone on to have a perfect year, going 21-0 in 2022. With the AEW Women’s championship being vacated and relinquished at various points, the TBS title felt more like a staple of AEW’s programming. With her unbelievable star power and presence, Jade helped make it all the more legitimate and has made Rampage feel like the Jade Cargill show.

Jade has continued refining herself as a wrestler, even teaming up with Bryan Danielson to help improve. Under the guidance of the American Dragon, Jade has learnt that wrestling is as much about having fun as it is about work rate. Their partnership has allowed Jade to learn from each match and develop as a performer. Jade’s dedication shows. Her matches with Anna Jay, and Tay Conti, are particular standouts. Jade has been an excellent canvas for people to work off of. The women mentioned above shone brightest when working with Jade. So too, has Nala Rose, who, after being absent from AEW TV, has shot back up in popularity.

As Jade said, “Nobody has my body. My face. My Aura”. Everything about her screams star power. If 2022 is anything to go by, Jade is on the fast track to becoming one of wrestling’s biggest stars.
