Jade Cargill Goes 60-0; Reaches 500 Days As Champion

Former Staff

It’s Friday night, and you know what that means; time for another episode of AEW Rampage. This week sees the return of Jade Cargill to in-ring competition as she issues an open challenge in Austin, Texas.

The Match

First up is Danni Bee. Jade quickly disposes of the challenger in seconds, scoring the victory with a pump kick.

But Jade is not done there. No, she is just getting warmed up. Demanding another opponent, Genesis accepts the challenge. She did not last much longer. Jade quickly hit the Jaded for a second victory in just over a minute, pushing her to 60-0 and ensuring herself a 500+ day reign.

Not satisfied with two wins tonight, Jade and Smart Mark Sterling issue a third open challenge. Before the next challenger can make it halfway down the ramp, they are interrupted by a returning Taya Valkyrie. Decking Jade’s opponent, Taya enters the ring, hits Jade with the Road to Valhalla, and declares a rematch for the TBS Championship at Double or Nothing.

Final Thoughts

Overall, an entertaining segment. The multiple matches freshened up the typical squash match we get with Jade. The ending with the arrival of Taya Valkyrie is a decent set-up for their match at Double or Nothing next week.

During this build, Taya has had Jade’s number every step of the way. Is Valkyrie going to be the one to dethrone Jade and become the new TBS Champion? With Jade holding the title for a year and a half and mainly having squash matches like the two we saw tonight, perhaps dropping the title would be an excellent way for her to develop as a wrestler.

Those are our thoughts but what did you think of this week’s Rampage? Do you think Taya Valkyrie will beat Jade at Double or Nothing? Would Taya make a good TBS Champion? We at Women’s Wrestling Talk love knowing what you think.
