While in her hometown of Tijuana, to receive the honor of having her name put on the Taijhana walk of fame, the AEW Women’s Champion spoke about her possible return to in-ring action.
Shoutout to the whole AEW Women’s Division, you guys are doing great. I’m getting better. Time is coming. I’m coming back soon,” she said. “I know you guys are really eager to when I’m coming back, the news will come later. I’m sorry I don’t have a timeline. (Transcribed by Fightful)
Although Thunder has previously stated she was aiming for a January return, with no set date still on the cards, it is hard to judge whether Thunder is still aiming for that goal. Whatever the outcome, we wish Thunder Rosa a speedy recovery and hope to see her defending her AEW title soon.
Rosa had to relinquish her AEW championship due to a serious back injury. Making the announcement in a short backstage segment on the 24th August episode of AEW Dynamite, Rosa was set to defend her title at All Out against her championship against her then-tag partner Toni Storm. With Rosa sidelined, AEW held a tournament to crown an interim champion, which Toni Storm eventually won.
