During the Rampage episode on October 15th, Maria Kanellis made her AEW debut. She would enter the stage alongside her hubby Mike Kanellis and Matt Taven, known colloquially as The Kingdom. The trio is well-known for its participation in ROH and IMPACT Wrestling. They have recently concluded their tenure with IMPACT.
At the time of the group’s debut, according to a document from Fightful Select, there was no contract in place. This has been modified. Their debut presented FTR with a challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championships. Although the exact circumstances of that are unknown, FTR pushed to involve them, according to what Fightful was informed. At the time of their first appearance, none of the three had signed multiyear contracts with AEW, but since then, all three have done so.

There were rumors that WWE liked Taven and had talked to Maria and Mike about him. There is no evidence that WWE has made any confirmed offers. Maria is currently only negotiated as a talent, despite having openly expressed a desire to help book the women’s division for ROH. Before the promotion went on hiatus and was later acquired by Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, Maria had assisted with the rebranding of the ROH women’s division.
Since May, Maria has owned and directed the independent women’s wrestling promotion Women’s Wrestling Army.
